Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – Huguenot Avenue & Swaim Avenue Reconstruction Project in Staten Island

ALRA was proud to join the ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of the Huguenot Avenue & Swaim Avenue Reconstruction Project in Staten Island!

This important infrastructure project led by NYCDDC addressed erosion, flooding, and water infrastructure improvements that will benefit the community for years to come.

ALRA was honored to support this effort by providing Community Outreach Services, helping keep residents informed and engaged throughout the process.

ALRA had the privilege of attending the 2025 ASCE Long Island Branch Annual Awards Dinner on June 5th, a wonderful evening celebrating excellence in engineering and infrastructure. It was a great opportunity to connect with industry professionals, share insights, and be inspired by the incredible work happening across Long Island.

The night was filled with fun, meaningful conversations, great food, and the chance to strengthen connections with our industry peers. ALRA was also presented with a trophy for the 2024 Civil Engineer’s Annual Golf Classic. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a fantastic group and excited to continue contributing to the industry’s growth and success.

ALRA had the pleasure of attending the 2025 ACEC New York Annual Meeting on June 5th, where industry leaders gathered to discuss the past year’s accomplishments in engineering and infrastructure, as well as the future ahead.

Highlights included presentations on offshore wind power generation, the Henry Hudson Bridge rehabilitation, and a session on AI’s impact on the future of work in our field. We also heard important updates from keynote speaker Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez of NYSDOT, as well as the outgoing and incoming ACEC New York chairs.

A big thank you to  ACEC New York for organizing such an impactful event, and to all the amazing speakers and attendees who made it memorable!

Krista has been an integral part of our team, and her dedication to advancing both our company and the industry is truly inspiring. It was a true honor to see her recognized at the ACEC New York Annual Meeting.

The ACEC New York Leadership Institute is a professional development program designed for emerging leaders in the engineering industry. It equips participants with essential leadership, communication, business, and management skills through a mix of interactive sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities to prepare participants for leadership roles and the broader engineering community.

One of the highlights was her moment with Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez of the NYSDOT, as well as the entire graduating class of 2025.

ALRA had an excellent time attending the NYSATE Conference 83 in Saratoga Springs! Technical sessions packed with insights from industry experts, and networking opportunities made it an amazing experience.

We are always looking to stay ahead of the curve, and this conference gave us some incredible takeaways.
Not to mention the fun moments – from the golf tournament to the ice cream social, and the TPOY Banquet, it was a perfect balance of learning and socializing.

This week, we are especially cognizant of the safety of our staff and all construction personnel working out there on our roads… we respectfully remind all drivers to KEEP EVERYONE SAFE by simply going slow, moving over, and staying alert while driving through construction work zones. Respect the zone so we all get home!

ALRA Engineers had the pleasure of attending the 2025 Student Scholarship Awards Luncheon hosted by the ASCE Metropolitan Section on April 10, 2025. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet the scholarship recipients and celebrate their achievements. We also learned about the exciting work and continued progress being made by the Port Authority from Keynote Speaker Amanda Rogers, P.E., CCM, LEED AP, Director of Construction, Major Capital Projects at the PANYNJ.

Thank you ASCE for supporting the future of engineering. Congratulations and best of luck to all the scholarship award winners. You have impressed us already and we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!

What a night! On Saturday, April 5, 2025, ALRA had the incredible honor of receiving a Gold Award for Engineering Excellence in the category of Transportation from ACEC New York! 🏆 It was truly a privilege to be recognized among such talented peers, industry leaders, and high-profile projects at the 58th Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Gala. We are grateful to ACEC for this recognition and to NYS Department of Transportation for entrusting us with the great responsibility to carry out this project for the agency.

At ALRA we are passionate about enhancing our transportation systems for safety, efficiency, and sustainability. This award is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and innovation that drives us every day. Special thanks to our inspection team for leading the efforts on this important assignment and bringing this win home, as well as a huge congratulations to ALL of the ACEC New York award winners. Your hard work is significant and inspiring. We are humbled and very much enjoyed celebrating our accomplishments together thanks to ACEC New York!

ALRA attended the New York State Association of Transportation Engineers (NYSATE) Section 8 “2025 State of the Region” event at the Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls on March 26, 2025. It was a great opportunity to gather and learn about the Region’s accomplishments and objectives for future infrastructure enhancements.

The ALRA team proudly serves the New York State Department of Transportation on a variety of projects throughout Region 8. It is a privilege to be a part of the Region’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve our transportation systems. We hope to be a valuable part of many more important and exciting developments in the years to come.
