Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley and New York State Department of Transportation Region 8 Safety Seminar

January 2025

ALRA’s field staff attended the annual Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley and New York State Department of Transportation Region 8 Safety Seminar on Tuesday, January 21st in Hyde Park, NY. With topics such as OSHA regulations, traffic control, slips, trips, and falls on the agenda, our team members listened, learned, and were reminded of the importance of safety. The bottom line: SAFETY IS IMPORTANT and cannot be taken for granted on our job sites. Awareness and continuous education are key to maintaining the wellbeing of our staff, clients, and the traveling public. ALRA remains committed to SAFETY as our NUMBER ONE PRIORITY!

We are thrilled to announce that Paul Taveras, P.E., has joined our team at ALRA Engineers, P.C. Paul is an experienced engineer with extensive knowledge in construction as well as bridge condition assessment inspections. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the States of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Paul’s dedication to excellence and innovative approach aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering top-notch engineering solutions. AAASHE’s December Holiday Meeting

ALRA Engineers enjoyed attending ASHE’s December Holiday Meeting with keynote speaker NYSDOT Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez, Esq. It was an honor to witness Commissioner Dominguez receive an award from ASHE NY Metro for her remarkable contributions to the A/E/C and Transportation Industry during their 20th Anniversary celebration. The evening was filled with joy and camaraderie as we celebrated the holiday season with friends and colleagues. Highlights included an inspiring keynote address by Commissioner Dominguez and a special award presentation. Thank you to everyone who made this event unforgettable!

38th Annual AGC NYS Construction Industry Conference

ALRA Engineers attended the 38th Annual AGC NYS Construction Industry Conference held from December 10-12, 2024, in Saratoga Springs, NY. We participated in a variety of workshops and training programs, gaining valuable insights into the latest industry trends and innovations.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity for our team to enhance their knowledge in areas such as safety, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge construction techniques. By attending these workshops, our engineers are better equipped to implement advanced solutions and maintain the highest standards of excellence in our projects.

STEM for kids

Our very own Ralph Suazo had an incredible time presenting to Mrs. Guarino’s Pre-K class at Saint Eugene Catholic School today, sharing all about Who Builds Buildings and What Tools They Use!

The little learners were full of excitement as Ralph introduced them to the world of architects, engineers, and construction workers. From hammers and hard hats to cranes and blueprints, they got to discover the tools and teamwork it takes to build the structures we see every day. A big thank you to Mrs. Guarino’s and Saint Eugene Catholic School for inviting Ralph to inspire these future builders—it’s never too early to nurture a love for creating!

NYSATE Section 8 Mini Conference

2024 New York State Department of Transportation Region 11 Mini Olympics

ALRA is proud to have participated in the NYSDOT Region 11 Mini Olympics! This event, a cherished tradition from the 1990s, was brought back to life this year, and we couldn’t be happier to have been a part of it.
The Mini Olympics is more than just a competition – it’s a celebration of teamwork, camaraderie, and the spirit of collaboration between State and Consultant team members. We’re thrilled to report that the event was a resounding success!
From the smiles on faces to the laughter in the air, it was clear that everyone had a fantastic time. The turnout was impressive, and we’re already looking forward to an even bigger crowd next year.
